What’s Your Why?

Each one of us was drawn to the field of medicine for our own reason. Remembering why we do the work we do can help us focus on what is meaningful. It can help us recenter our efforts toward what recharges us.

Jennifer Griggs:
Caring for people with cancer has allowed me to help people make decisions under conditions of uncertainty, eliciting from them the things that matter most. It’s an honor to be with people at their most vulnerable moments, to see them truly and fully. My work with MOQC allows me to help close the gaps in care, which for me is a form of justice. I love partnering with our practices to create alignment across the state so that the care you receive doesn’t depend on where you happen to live, the doctor you happen to see the day you have your first appointment, or the resources that the practice has. In other words, our goal is to provide high quality care across the entire state. The MOQC physicians and their teams, our Coordinating Center team, and our patients and caregivers are an inspiration, and both bring and create joy at work.
