MOQC has implemented quarterly education sessions that are available to MOQC practices. The purpose of these sessions is to enhance collaboration and knowledge-sharing among all healthcare team members.
In September, MiGen, the Michigan LGBTQ+ Elders Network, presented an introduction to LGBTQ+ communities through an aging perspective. They covered a brief history, key terminology and provided Michigan-specific demographics to illuminate challenges faced by LGBTQ+ older adults. They also shared tools to help make your oncology practices more inclusive.
Later this year, pharmacists Mark Wagner and Colton Zwart will speak to the recognition and management of toxicity from immunotherapy. Register at https://moqc.org/eventspace/.
Information, including resources and videos from these education sessions, can be found on the MOQC Interprofessional Development webpage – https://moqc.org/eventspace/.
Coming up in 2025 and beyond we’ll have speakers for Advance Care Planning, Compassionate De-Escalation and more! If you have any additional topics to put forward or if you would like to present to MOQC practices on a topic, please contact us at moqc@moqc.org.
