Advance Care Planning
MOQC hosted a 2-part Advance Care Planning session in February featuring speakers Tracy Bargeron, MSN, RN, Summer Bates, FNP-BC, ACHPN, and Katie Parkhurst, RN, BSN from Covenant HealthCare.
Attendees learned how to effectively introduce Advance Care Planning (ACP) to patients and their families, discovered the benefits of creating Advance Directives and selecting a Patient Advocate, and learned about essential legal requirements in Michigan.

Post-Op Healing
Healthy Behavior Optimization for Michigan (HBOM) hosted a virtual session related to Post-Op Healing in March 2025.
In this interactive ideation session, attendees mapped a patient’s journey, discussed barriers and facilitators to healthy healing, and identified strategies that increase the odds of long-term success. The goal of the session was to give attendees a clearer sense of what post-op healing looks like and how to play a part.
Medical team members are invited to all free interprofessional education sessions. Resources and registration information for MOQC education sessions can be found at https://moqc.org/eventspace/.
