The POQC Financial Navigation workgroup collaborated with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and was awarded a grant to explore financial navigation services within our practices. The pilot project started May 1st and will end on September 30th. Practices’ financial navigators, social workers, and all healthcare team members who assist patients with the financial complexities of cancer treatments were invited to participate in a virtual focus group. The focus groups will occur in July and August so themes can be collected and verified within the project timeframe.
We are excited to share a new video created by POQC centered around financial navigation. This video is designed to help patients and caregivers understand to whom they can reach out for more efficient management of financial aspects of cancer care.
