Michigan Oncology Quality Consortium
MOQC is one of 18 Collaborative Quality Initiatives (CQI) established by Blue Cross Blue Shield to improve the quality of care provided by oncology practices across Michigan. The Coordinating Center works in partnership with medical and gynecologic oncologists by sharing data to develop best practices in areas of care with high variation and costs.

Rewards
MOQC reimburses practices for one ASCO Physician Membership (valued at $655 as of 1/2020) a year for access to the ASCO-QOPI quality measure data platform. MOQC provides practices with data abstraction services or will reimburse practices for the time associated with data abstraction.

Practices use QOPI®(Quality Oncology Practice Initiative) measures to identify opportunities to improve care. MOQC supports practices with quality data and improvement strategies to meet the requirements of multiple reporting agencies and accrediting bodies.

Certification and Continuing Education Support
Medical oncologists can earn points toward American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM’s) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) for data abstraction and activities for leadership and participation in quality projects sponsored by MOQC.
Free Continuing Education credits for physicians, practice administrators, pharmacists, nurses, and social workers can be acquired by attending Biannual meetings held in January and June.
Continuing Education credits are being pursued for physicians, nurses, practice administrators and social workers for twice-a- year regional meetings beginning in 2020.
MOQC is applying for continuing medical education credits (CMEs) for Doctors of Osteopathy (DO) for its Quality Meetings and Events for 2020.
