MOQC Gynecology Oncology Biannual Meeting, October 1, 2022

MOQC invites you to the biannual meeting of the Gynecology Oncology group. During this meeting, MOQC gynecologic oncologists and practice staff will review performance data, discuss changes in care strategies, and share best practices for improving outcomes.

Please send this invitation to any member of your practice, such as your manager, nurse, physician assistant or nurse practitioner. Any member of your team is welcome to attend this meeting. There is no charge for attendance.

FAQs

Is this a mandatory meeting?

Yes, one gynecologic oncologist and one administrative lead from each practice must attend this Biannual Meeting to meet the participation requirements required by the Consortium. This is one of participation requirements that positions the practice to receive its annual CQI (MOQC) Value-based Payment (VBP) from BCBSM. Other members of the practice, including clinical team leaders and administrators are strongly encouraged to attend. Mid-level providers are welcomed but their attendance cannot be substituted for physicians’ attendance.

Who else can attend the Regional Meeting?

All members of practice teams who are interested in quality improvement are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, you do not need to bring your ticket to the event. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Utilize learned gynecologic oncology quality measures.
  • Integrate relevant content to provide cost-effective healthcare that does not compromise care quality.
  • Integrate relevant content to ensure multi-specialty/multi-disciplinary coordination of care.
  • Analyze and implement experience and improve practice.

Anticipated Outcomes of Meeting:

  • Improve metrics to meet QOPI measure requirements
  • Refer to the guidelines in order to achieve better quality of cancer care delivery
  • Improve surgical outcomes
  • Improve ovarian cancer patient education and access

Description with expected results:
-One gynecologic oncologist and one administrative lead from each participating MOQC practice must be present at both Gynecologic Oncology MOQC Biannual Meetings, one in the Spring and one in the Fall, to qualify for Value-Based Reimbursement. After completing this activity, gynecologic oncologists will decrease the use of opioid prescriptions based on inpatient and historical usage, adjust the start date of chemotherapy for patients who have had debulking surgery for ovarian cancer to guidelines, and identify and develop criteria to investigate future gaps.
